Chlorine and pH tests with a comparator are best taken using non fading colour standards and a white light cabinet. This will provide a consistent uniform white light source, taking readings under fluorescent lighting can distort results. If a white light cabinet is not available do not hold the comparator up to an electric light or the sun; use daylight preferably north facing
