interactive water features
During recent years the popularity of the interactive water features has seen a large increase, and as stated in the section on paddling pools they have taken over to quite a degree.

Similar to the paddling pool water contamination is a large concern and the interactive water feature may have numerous features such as cannons sprinklers, water tubes to name but a few, all of which will need to bacteria free throughout the bathing period.

The bather is encouraged to play with these numerous features, experience what the feature does and how they differ from each other, where as in a conventional paddling pool the fountain or feature is predominantly decorative and not designed for interaction with.

The design of an interactive water feature may be very simple with just a few interactive elements or it may be highly sophisticated with multiple features, dryers and fountains.

The ground on which the features are placed is solid and often has a non slip rubber coating thus preventing accidents, the water from the feature usually drains through the surface grills of each feature and goes into a holding tank before passing back to the plant for disinfection and pH control.

The plant room for these features can often be situated may metres away from the feature thus reducing noise within the play area and in the larger features may well include the use of Ultra Violet to ensure water quality.

See interactive IWF schematic below

Once again as per the paddling pool a concise risk assessment will need to be undertaken providing the operation rules and guidelines for the bather to adhere to.
