So what actually is a paddling Pool?
The best definition we could use is that a Paddling Pool is a small volume of water that has the purpose or intent to allow young children to play in, and in such are most likely to be found in parks or children's play areas.

Like any volume of water, dangers exist within its operation, especially where infants are involved, and with this in mind it is advisable to undertake a comprehensive risk assessment regarding its operation supervision and management.

The paddling pools design may often incorporate small water features such as fountains and will rely heavily on the operator for its water quality standards. Unlike most volumes of water a paddling pool will be subject to large amounts of debris not only from its natural surroundings with leaves being a particular problem, but it will also be subject to various forms of litter that either get blown or simply left in the water by the user.

Dirty paddling poolThis debris can easily block up a strainer basket and have serious implications not only in the flow rate but in the water quality. For this reason it is of utmost importance that physical removal of the debris is undertaken on a frequent basis, which may be twice or more per day.

Now days many paddling pools, often due to the high levels of maintenance required and the possible requirement for supervision are being refurbished and made into Interactive Water Features.
