Sodium Hypochlorite
Sodium hypochlorite is a popular pool water sanitiser. Although it can be used in both hard and soft water areas, in the latter it is necessary is to raise calcium hardness artificially to prevent premature grout loss.

> Sodium Hypochlorite should not be stored or mixed with any acid
> Personal protective clothing should be worn when handling
> Storage of carboys should be in a cool, dark, secure storage place
> ay tanks must be contained within a bund sized at 110% of tank volume

FEATURES
> Supplied in liquid form
> 12% – 15% available chlorine
> Supplied in carboys or 1,000 litre bulk delivery
> pH 12 requires plenty of acid to correct
> Shelf life: around 1 month
> High in chlorides. Increases TDS and promotes corrosion

DOSING
Dosed via a pump and day tank, the day tank is filled either from a large bulk tank or by transferring the liquid from carboys. Dosing lines should be sheathed and clearly marked showing flow directions and stating the name of the product contained within them.

RECOMMENDED WATER CONDITIONS
> ph 7.3 – 7.5
> Alkalinity 120 – 150 mg/l as CaCO3
> Calcium hardness above 250 mg/l as CaCO3
> TDS not more than 1,000 mg/l above
the TDS level of the supply water
