Trichlor is a well known pool water sanitiser which is more commonly used in residential pools than in municipal pools. It contains cyanuric acid to stabilise chlorine against loss to sunlight so is best placed in outdoor pools.
Trichlor tablets are incompatible with all other chlorine tablets and should not be stored with or mixed with any other chemical, granular or tablet.
| > |
Personal protective clothing should be worn when handling Trichlor tablets |
| > |
Storage should be away from other chlorine donors in a cool, dry, well ventilated, secure place |
| FEATURES |
| > |
Slow dissolving white tablets available in differing sizes: typically in the U.K. 300 gm (Tri-tabs), 200 gm (Maxi-tabs), 14 gm (Mini-tabs). |

90% available chlorine |
| > |
Convenient for outdoor pools: Trichlor adds cyanuric acid to the water which stabilises chlorine against loss due to sunlight |
| > |
Cyanuric acid must be controlled by dilution with fresh water |
| > |
SpH 3 – therefore must be corrected using sodium carbonate (soda ash)
*2 year shelf-life |
| DOSING |
| Trichlor is relatively easy to dose, via a trichlorinator which is an erosion type feeder. When fitted it is normally installed in such a way as to use the motive power of the circulating pump to drive water through the feeder thus eroding the chlorine tablets. Trichlorinators must be fitted with some form of vent to allow any excess pressure to be freely vented to a low pressure point in the system. Trichlorinators must be clearly labelled to prevent any other type of chlorine donor tablets being used, otherwise explosions can result. |
